weTrack / Asset tracking

Asset tracking software for the equipment you run.

Know where an asset belongs, what work has been done to it, and which record your team should use. weTrack connects equipment, sites and service history in one CMMS and EAM platform.

The record

One record per asset, from the tag to the invoice

Whatever your company runs can be tracked: vehicles, machines, tools, parts and the buildings they sit in. Each one gets a record like this.

Step 01

Tag it once

Any asset can carry a QR and NFC tag. One scan from RPT Mobile, on iOS or Android, opens its record in the field.

Step 02

Put it on the map

Every asset belongs to a site with GPS coordinates. The record says where the equipment is, not what the last person typed into a name field.

Step 03

Keep the history with the asset

Service entries, parts, photos and video attach to the record and stay with it when the equipment moves between the shop and the job site.

Step 04

Independent of whoever did the work

The record belongs to the operator. Vendors change; the asset's history does not. Anything tracked feeds the analytics.

The problems

The problems an asset register is supposed to fix

Every one of these is a records problem before it is a software problem.

  1. The problemNobody is sure where a piece of equipment is, or which site it belongs to

The fixEvery asset resolves to a fixed point: site, location and GPS, on the record

  2. The problemThe item in front of the technician and the record in the office are two different things

The fixOne scan of the QR or NFC tag from RPT Mobile opens the same record the office reviews

  3. The problemThe service history lives with whichever vendor did the work last

The fixThe record stays with the operator, independently of the vendor who serviced the equipment

  4. The problemPhotos and reports sit in email attachments nobody can find later

The fixPhotos, video and service entries attach to the asset and stay there

From the field

Scan it, find it, file it

RPT Mobile brings QR and NFC scanning to iOS and Android. A scan identifies the tagged equipment and opens its record, and crews attach photos and video to the service work from the site. No paperwork to carry back and re-enter later.

In the office

A register the field and office both recognize

The register holds the asset, its recorded site, the work performed, who performed it and the associated cost. Those connections stay useful when different suppliers service the same equipment, and when it moves between a shop and a job site.

In practice

Building the register

Build an equipment register the field and office can recognize

An equipment register connects the item in front of a technician with the record an operator reviews. Start with the information your team already uses to identify equipment:

  • Identity: the identifier and description that distinguish one asset from another.
  • Recorded location: the site where the equipment belongs and the coordinates associated with that site.
  • Supporting history: the service entries, parts and media that help someone recognize the asset and understand its condition.

Before setting up your register, identify duplicate names, missing identifiers and service reports held separately by suppliers. Use representative records to agree how the entered information will be checked.

Follow one asset between the site and the shop

Consider a machine that leaves a site for service and later returns. Use that sequence to review how the recorded location, equipment identity and service documentation stay connected. Ask the field crew and office to find the same item, then check the earlier work and supporting photos. The industry changes; the need to identify the right asset remains.

Questions

What people ask about tracking assets

The answers below are what the platform does today. Bring one asset and we will work through it with you.

  1. Can weTrack track more than oilfield equipment?

Yes. weTrack is a general CMMS and EAM platform for the equipment an organization runs. Rod Pump Tracker provides the separate, specialized record for rod pump runs, pulls and repairs.

  2. How do asset tracking and maintenance records connect?

The equipment record supplies the context for the service history. The maintenance view adds the work performed, the supporting documentation and the parts used, so teams can review the asset and its history together.

  3. What does a GPS-mapped location represent?

It represents the coordinates recorded for a site. If your requirement is continuous vehicle movement, route history or shipment tracking, ask RPT to confirm that specific workflow. A mapped equipment record by itself does not establish those capabilities.

Find the same asset from the field and the office

Bring one asset that has changed location or been serviced by more than one vendor: its identifier, its location and a recent service report. We will show you the same asset tracked on your side of it.
